Income Verification for EAB
Hey All, So we've received a federal grant for our EAB program. As part of this we're required to income verify participants. Are any of you doing income verification for any of your programs? If so do you have best practices? Pitfalls to look out for?
Any advice is appreciated.

At the Armory Bike Union, we work with referral partners who already do the certification for the services they offer. This way we don't have to take on the role of determining need and can focus on what we are good at. It requires some time to coordinate and promote the program to partner agencies, but definitely saves time and reduces headaches! -Scott

@Scott,
Agreed. Use other agencies and footnote their processes.

In my experience working with federal grants, the HUD income limits have always been the accepted standard.
It seems to make the most sense to use other agencies' verification but if your grant requires you to do your own verification, HUD has a searchable webpage at: http://www.huduser.org/portal/datasets/il/il13/index.html
And here are the HUD Income limits for your County, Rich: http://www.huduser.org/portal/datasets/il/il2013/2013summary.odn
Hope this helps, Matt VanSlyke
