Volunteer Scheduling and Hours Tracking
Hello everyone,
We're looking to improve our system for both scheduling and tracking volunteer hours. Right now we have a spreadsheet in google docs but it doesn't get used very often and can be confusing for new folks. Does anyone have a good system for volunteer hours, either electronic or that we could use in the shop?
Thanks!
Andy Bakker
Hi Andy,
The folks at the San Francisco Bike Kitchen have an online service called The FreeHub: http://freehub.bikekitchen.org/
Not sure if it does everything you are looking for, but it might work.

That freehub system looks pretty cool. I'll have to look at it more closely when we get up and running.
For scheduling, Google Calendar would probably be enough, but I don't think you could do tracking of volunteer time easily.

Just realized the code is also freely available for forking and running on your own server: https://github.com/asalant/freehub. Is anyone from SFBC coming to Bike!Bike! this year? I would love to talk about the future of this project, or even better, have someone run a workshop about its capabilities, history, and future development.
