Scholarships to National Bike Summit
Hey folks, My League overlords wanted me to tell you that the National Bicycle Dealers Association is offering 25 scholarships to the National Bike Summit, and the deadline to apply is coming up on January 15. You can apply here:http://bikeleague.org/content/summit-scholarships-nbda
*Who's eligible to apply?*
- You must be an owner or manager of a bike shop, co-op or collective
- Your shop must be a member of NBDA (or in the process of becoming a
member) 3) You must be a first-time attendee of the National Bike Summit
A maybe important detail: If your co-op or shop isn't currently an NBDA member, you can still apply for the scholarship as long as you also get the NBDA membership process started.

Bobby Gadda is giving me an earful about the nonhierarchical point, it's something I'm going to report to the scholarship organizers as a major oversight in the scholarship requirements if they actually want collective members to apply. I appreciate the reminder!

I'm unclear as to the advantage of a collective/co-op joining the NBDA. What's their goal in offering these scholarships to collectives/co-ops? We take the $150 gamble (join NBDA) that we could get the $1000 scholarship? I'd love to go to the summit but it's just not in the financial cards, nor is an NBDA membership (with questionable benefits) for that matter.
