Traffic model, interesting art piece, short video
Came across this this evening, and while he doesn't address any specific traffic issues or solutions, he did build a semi-automated giant model of a city with small cars and trains and it's very kinetic and sort of pretty. And he speaks a little about how car ownership and drivership has allowed a certain "freedom" but that's going away soon.

Figured some of you might be interested in this.
I didn't realize it, but the video is a short teaser for a larger exhibit at the LA MOMA, and the artist who created it is famous for having crucified himself on a VW bug, among some other pretty controversial things.

It does raise a question or two about cities and our obsessions with transportation. While moving around is important and necessary i am not sure it should be the focus or leader of discussion around the conditions we create for our selves to live in.
Writing this is not helping me to put a finger on the gut feelings i got watching this clip.
I live in Los Angeles and will see at some point this exhibit at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)
