biking to bike bike from the east
A few of us over here at TBR are getting excited about plotting our bike to bike bike from Troy, NY to Toronto leaving the morning of August 7 and taking the Erie canal bike path route.
if anyone from the North/South/East of us is interested in joining in, please contact me for details. we would be happy to put people up here the night before we leave or whatever also.
over&out, andrew lynn
In response to Andrew Lynn's post about riding to Bike!Bike!, what is the timeframe (mileage and number of days)?

it looks like approximately 380mi in 5 days so it will be a quackish pace if they are carrying all their own gear 70+mi per day to get there by the 12th.

we are looking at leaving Friday the 6th.... so 6 days, reducing that mileage and pace. its all basically flat, by the way, so 70 miles a day is doable even at an easier pace. frankly we dont quite know how long it will take, but we want to leave enough time to get there.
there is also a crew riding back after BikeBike, which is not required of anyone obviously.

I highly recommend folks use the forum page on the bikebike website to keep track of what treks are happening, and who wants to join them. also don't forget to check out the travel info already up there, especially the part about which border crossings have *bike access*.
Not sure if I mentioned this before but on the canadian side of Lake Ontario there is a Waterfront trail that covers about 900km. You can take it from Niagara on the Lake, through Hamilton to Toronto, or (coming from the east) from the Quebec border through Kingston and Port Hope (etc).
