I'm wondering if anyone could share their pricing structure for bike valet events.
We currently run an annual bike valet on Canada Day and we are looking to expand to more events. If you have any additional tips and tricks for getting started with Bike Valet send them our way!

We always did it for free but put out a donation jar, in addition we offered free tune-ups. We usually ended up making a little bit of money but used the event more to increase awareness of what we do and bring more people into the shop. Are you paying your valets? If it seems overpriced, note that a port-a-potty http://www.portapotty.net/rental/ is $200/day. We raised our price to cover opportunity costs when we started also offering rental of racks.
Valets are volunteers, so we pay our vol coordinator to wrangle them, and usually have one staff on site.

We don't run one ourselves, but another Vancouver nonprofit, Better Environmentally Sound Transportation (BEST) has run a bike valet for 25 years.
They seem to have a pretty sophisticated pricing structure, though they don't detail that online. But I'm sure if you got in touch they'd love to share some tips!

I get paid to park bikes here in Portland at a permanent bike valet location on weekday mornings. To my understanding, the university has a contract agreement with "Go By Bike" -- so the university pays, and anyone who wants to is allowed to park for free. People can pay for basic repairs and three bikes available for rent. We make about $5 per person per month in tips, also someone brought cookies once.
