Visual teaching aids
Hey all,
I'm interested in seeing what kind of visual/tactile teaching aids you use in your shops. This year we built a limit screws demonstration based on something that was shared on the thinktank and I'm curious what other shops use.
Thanks! Beth Austerberry Bikechain 563 Spadina Crescent North Borden Building Toronto ON M5S 2J7

Here are a few pics of some I saw at Bretz’selle in Strasbourg, France.
No connection to me, just some recent pics that apply to your question.

Beth,
These two images are of two examples that we use at our community bike shop in Erie, Pa. The one below with the wheel and shifters, I should have included brakes on it too.

Here's our shifting demo tool (lol sorry facing driveside in, so tacky): [image: 0.jpg]
It's mounted on a 2x4 so we can bring it to outreach events and clamp it to a table easily: [image: 0-1.jpg]
Detail showing the color coded front/back shifter systems: [image: 0-2.jpg]
and a bearing cutaway : [image: Learning Tool 2 - Bearings.JPG] This one is color coded for luck nuts vs adjustable cups, and we still need to make it mountable on the wall so it can come and go.
These are both intended to be mounted in our shop area when people first enter, but we are still remodeling ;) and modular so they can come and go to events and back to the space.
