Is anyone using an online scheduling service for volunteer sign ups? Bicycle Longmont (Colorado) has a very successful Bike Valet service. We have a growing number of volunteers willing to help us with our 24 week season and our current meet-up page isn't cutting it any longer.
The preferred online website/etc. would allow us to have a volunteer sign up plus allow us to organize rides & events plus message all members, too.
Anyone have any options locations or modules we could plug in to our website?
Thanks, Ryan Kragerud, President Bicycle Longmont
We and some other non-profits use Volgistics. It's a somewhat expensive but very powerful database. It allows you to put signup forms for volunteers online, schedule shifts online, email volunteers, manage assignments and preferences, etc. I find it to be a great database for tracking volunteers and discriminating between different types.
With Volgistics, volunteers can sign up to volunteer for particular events or in general and can self-schedule all of their shifts online. Very helpful.

When organizing volunteers for large events I used Volunteer Local. Online registration, search features, do it yourself options such as what fields volunteers need to fill out, confirmation emails, etc. Not sure cost because they were a partner of the org.
