Does anyone know a Mike Cipolla, who left his Univega Alpina mountain bike in Amsterdam, the Netherlands?

Hello Bike Think Tankers, My excuses for being off-topic, but a Dutch friend of mine has been trying to reach a Californian named Mike Cipolla, who left a very nicely kept 1995-vintage mountain bike on his balcony, five years ago. Mike was supposed to come back for it, someday. About 18 months ago, he and Arie fell out of email contact. Arie tells me that he is pretty sure Mike is/was a professional bike mechanic, and worked in a bike collective of some sort. He is in his late 20s or early 30s. The bike is in excellent condition, the wheels are within a millimeter of being perfectly true. There is also a folding Rhode Gear trailer that goes with it. Arie would like the use of his balcony back, as well as to get back in touch with Mike. Clearly the Univega was well-loved, and we want to make one last effort to find Mike before getting rid of it. It is time to get energized for our big annual ride. There are many more people riding in Detroit now than have in recent memory. There are also many more groups doing rides together. On August 20th we will be gathering in our back alley at noon for our big annual ride. What makes our ride different? Well, the primary focus is our youth. We are inviting all our Youth that have completed the Earn-a-Bike program in the past year to bring those bikes out and ride with us. We hope they bring their families with them so they can all ride together. This will be a slow ride so people of all ages can keep up. Afterwards we will have a parent appreciation BBQ. So what if you didn't participate in Earn-a-Bike? Well, that is the other part that makes our ride unique - it is a fund-raiser to continue the programming that we provide here in the Cass Corridor. If you would like to ride with our youth, please register [5]at our Wepay.com site. Registration is $25, _but if you register before August 13th - registration is only $10._ Again, Youth Earn-a-Bike participants and their families ride free. Dreams For Kid's "Street Dreams" Program

Good Morning, Dreams For Kids is biking across America to raise awareness for the growing epidemic of youth homelessness. Our Street Dreams Campaign” will send one passionate man, Alex Petrou, cycling across the country to increase awareness for the 1.5 million children currently living in poverty in the U.S. He will ride from Los Angeles to New York in two months, sleeping in homeless shelters and stopping at bicycle collectives, schools and universities to educate the country on the increasing number of homeless youth in the U.S. We are looking to partner with bicycle collectives due to your unrelenting support for sustainable, educational and egalitarian programs. Our aligning interest and values are present in both Dreams For Kid’s and bicycle collectives’ passion to empower, sustain and take responsibility for the future human condition. Homelessness is a product of the way cities, administration and individual lives are structured. We have chosen to partner with the cycling community because it aims at disrupting these habitual attitudes towards transportation and customary routines. We believe this can consequently lead individuals out of homelessness. We have contacted you to invite you to participate in our Street Dreams project through various different avenues. The simplest way to get involved is to call us at 231-557-9422. We would love to hear more about your organization and how you could potentially get involved in the Street Dreams Initiative. Here are a few ways you and your organization can get involved with the Street Dreams Project; 1. Provide Alex a place to stay while he is travelling across the country. A place to stay has not been secured in a majority of the 52 cities Alex is staying in. Offer your couch to Alex and keep him from sleeping outside! Hey folks, I'd like to make a request for some articles to be created or improved based on the discussions that we've had here over the past month: Donations: Bikes & Parts (based on the discussions about how to be selective about bike donations)Tools: Necessary Shop Tools (based on the "Start-up inventory" discussion)Liability In addition it would be a good time to check you shop's page to see if updates should be made (see suggested outline) and if you have any more information or notes about Bike!Bike! that would be a great help too. If you're unsure about editing, take a look over the help section and rest assured that everything is backed up and can easily be reverted if need be and that someone will come along to improve you're writing or syntax if it needs work. Hello, We're organizing a bicycle collective here in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I was curious about liability? If we're doing events and helping folks tune up their bikes, what's the extent of us being liable for the rider we help out? Does anyone use a disclaimer kind of situation?
