Switching Umbrella Organizations

Hello All, Has anyone had experience with switching from one umbrella organization to another? We are currently considering undergoing this process and any examples of documents from other organizations who have underwent the same process would be a great help. Veer Documentary

So we recieved an email from the folks who created a bicycle documentary entitled Veer. http://www.veerthemovie.com They are offereing the film to bicycling organizations to use for fundraiser screenings. Since we have a local theatre that is down with our cause, and willing to let us use the theatre, we're considering showing this film. Does anyone have any experiance with the film? We're wondering if anyone has seen it, what they think, and if its something they would be comfortable hosting a screening of as a fundraiser for their shop. On-site Bike Tuneups, do you charge?

I know Community Cycles isn't the only bike organization out there who gets these (often uber last minute) requests to "just send over a bike mechanic to do some repairs at our event...". We've done this before, but as the weather gets warmer, we're seeing more requests. How do you handle these requests? Do you charge the event hosts? The cyclists? Thanks, hope the traffic on thinktank has been slow cause we're all super busy!!! josh.

Hey Josh. At Off the Chain we do these sort of events for free and have a suggested donation amount and a donation box available during the event. Any suggestions for keeping track of volunteers?

Hello all, We are currently restructuring our organization and looking to up our efficiency. We have trouble keeping our paper based volunteer system up to date. We acquired a computer, and would like to set up an in-shop database system. Ideally, this would have a sign-in/sign-out function that records time spend in shop, which could be cross referenced with the volunteers contact information. This would eliminate paper use and cut out the extra step of manually entering information. I have checked out the Bicycle Kitchen's Freehub software, but I would prefer to have something that is locally based and easily customizable. How do your shops manage volunteer tracking?
