Interbike Non-Profit Sign Up 2017

Yep, its that time of year again!! Here is the sign up for Interbike this year. Badges are FREE for non-profits and it is an invaluable experience. Write, email, and call these companies all you want, but they start listening when you are in their face. Not to mention they are cool people! Put a face to all these companies and start really working with the industry. This will be my fifth year participating as a representative for the non-profits on a national level and though I went in with a rather skeptic attitude, I promise I have seen a positive change by bringing the non-profits to the table. We are not preaching to the choir here, but actually changing opinions of those who make industry changes. We are part of that change and this will be another fabulous year for non-profits reminding them of that!! We offer a free lunch each day to volunteers After a month of helping at least one day (10am-4pm) a T Shirt After 3 months a Back2Bikes cycling jersey ( This is new) In December a Xmas party ( remember its summer here )such as bare foot green bowling with a meal and drinks. Volunteer Appreciation

Broke Spoke Community Bike Shop is looking to implement a more formal volunteer appreciation process in an effort to retain and acknowledge volunteers better. Looking for input on how the rest of the community bike shop world handles this. Do you acknowledge individuals for length of service by hours volunteered or simply an anniversary of their first date of volunteer service? What tiers of acknowledgement do you implement such as 1 month, 2 months, up to 6 months and then perhaps each year after that, 1 year, 2 years ...........and so on? Volunteers are our most valuable resource and as we try to expand our hours of operation we need more folks since we are a 100% volunteer organization.
