Artistic Bicycle Performers

Ahoy, ThinkTank-ers! I'm coordinating a community bicycle event in New Bedford, Massachusetts and would like to feature as many local bike organizations as possible. This will be a full day family-friendly celebration, filled with games, workshops, films and music. The entire event will kick-off with a bicycle parade led by SCUL (We're a local chopper bicycle gang based in Somerville, MA with a chapter in New Bedford, MA. - www.scul.org). Additionally, we would like to invite local artists and performers who use bicycles in their work. I'd love to have a bicycle dance team like the "Sprockettes" in Portland, OR or the "Bay Area Derailleurs" in San Francisco. Ideally, these acts would come from the Southeastern Massachusetts area but all groups are welcome. Unfortunately, there is very little funding so there will be no monetary compensation but I'm willing to buy everyone lunch. Does anyone have any information regarding bicycle performing artists? Bike! Bike! Volunteer Exchange Network Spreadsheet

Good evening, I started working on a database for the Volunteer Exchange Network<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArYR0yO0znVAdG84MllYY01lbEdBVD…>. I've set the options to "Anyone With the Link Can Edit." I gathered what you see on there from the emails that have been circulating since Bike!Bike! If your collective is interested in joining the network, please feel free to click the link and add your information to the spreadsheet. Many of us are now in the stages of figuring out what constitutes being in the network, what the requirements are for users and so forth. Thank you so much! Mechanic Exchange?

Hey yall - A few of us have been talking for years about developing a mechanic exchange between shops in and between Canada and the US, so that #1 broke ass bike mechanics can travel to sweet rad places for working vacays, and #2 so that we can learn about the intricacies of how other shops run and how we can make our own shops better. Is this on anyone's radar? Was this talked about in NOLA? Did I miss a really obvious thread about it? Cause if no one's working on this, maybe it'll be my baby this yearrrr... Get at me if you want to collaborate/don't want to have to do any more work but are full of great ideas/think it would be rad so I know I'm not the only one still fantasizing about this. <3 Lauren @ OCB Vancouver
