helmet$

does anyone out there purchase wholesale helmets? we are looking into some funding opportunities (basically trying to get local corporations that give small grants) specifically for buying helmets for low-income kids who work in our 'youth shop'. thinking that bike/skate helmets might be slightly more popular. any suggestions for manufacturers/distributors, etc?? thanks! Experience buying your own property for a community bike project
by Doug 13 Feb '12

13 Feb '12

The Fort Collins Bike Co-op is considering starting a capital fundraising campaign to raise money toward the purchase of our own permanent location. Like many community shops we have bounced around every couple years trying to find inexpensive or free rent. Our present location is currently slated for development into student housing, so our days are numbered there. Moving and then reorganizing consumes alot of our volunteer bandwidth and makes it more difficult for our customers to find us. If your organization has run a fundraising campaign please share any advice and I'll put your name on a list to contact with more specific questions as we proceed. Thank you in advance, Doug Cutter President Fort Collins Bike Co-op

Durable Spray Bottles Do they Exist?
by Rich Points 13 Feb '12

13 Feb '12

Hey All, Over the years I have purchased dozens of plastic spray bottles for Community Cycles, we use the for degreaser. I've found a variety of different models with small differences but the one thing they have in common is they suck. They tend to last 4-6 weeks and then become unfix-able garbage. Does anyone know of something strong and durable? http://www.americanprintingequipment.com/ProductImages/spray%20bottle.jpg Thx -- Rich Points Community Cycles Executive Director http://CommunityCycles.org Rich(a)CommunityCycles.org 720-565-6019 (W) 303-589-0597 (C) CC is Boulder's only bike shop dedicated to bike commuting. Find us on FaceBook http://facebook.com/home.php#!/CommunityCycles Volunteer orientations are held 6p.m. on the 4th Wednesday of each month.
