Hey think tank, We have a brand new Executive Director (who has been involved in the Bicycle Collective since 2003) and are filling his former position as the Director of the Ogden Bicycle Collective. Ogden is arguably the best location for a bike collective in terms of donations and partnership, as it is home to Scott USA bicycle warrantees, Tektro/TRP, Rotor, Mercury, Mavic USA, ENVE, Crank Bros (including a Brooks office), and more, and many employees of QBP still work from home here and volunteer with the collective, too. You know how over at old spokes home community bike shop they're doing the free pickle with every purchase? http://www.oldspokeshome.com/entry/free-pickle I was thinking, what if ALL the bike collectives celebrated FREE PICKLE Day? Or FREE PICKLE WEEK, even. It could be a pickle with every purchase, ending in a big ole' pickle potluck/feast like with sauerkraut and kimchee and pickle bucket panniers (I recommend pickled ginger) works. I mean, seriously. You could even sanitize some spokes and serve pickles on spokes. it could be maybe even used as a fundraiser or volunteer lure event if you're due for one of those. Any interest?
