Hey bicycle friendlies We're hiring an admin assist here in Winnipeg, Canada. While bike repair and teaching skills aren't part of the job, they're always an asset, as is experience with community bike shops. And if anyone from afar were to apply and get hired we'd happily assist with helping you find housing and get ya settled. Heck, most folks can still afford buy a house in this town if ya wanted to go that route. 32 hr/wk, $18/hr with paid extended health benefits after 6 months. Application deadline March 12 at noon. We are travelling at the end of the month to Houston and we are looking on buying bike parts that are difficult to find on Mexico to take bak home and we will like it a lot to buy them form a local co-op. hello from Reno, Think Tank. We are redoing our signage for our parts storage and organization. As an org, we have agreed that they should be in Spanish and English, as well as have photos if possible. Before I put in the work, I was figuring I could as if anybody here got a PDF/Word Doc of such a thing and be willing to share? WHO WE ARE: The Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition (SBBIKE) is a countywide organization that promotes bicycling for safe transportation and recreation. Bici Centro, a project of SBBIKE, is a community DIY bicycle repair shop and education center, with the goal of facilitating skill share and increased reliability and safety for all Santa Barbara bicycle riders. There are three Bici Centro facilities—one in Downtown Santa Barbara, one at Santa Barbara City College, and one in Santa Maria. POSITION DESCRIPTION: Shop operations in the Santa Barbara shop is the primary emphasis of this role. Does anyone have links to multilingual charts? I don't want to add to the labour of any folx who natively speak languages other than English but I feel so confident this work has already been done. (I'll check the wiki) In my area (northeast US) I'd guess the three most commonly needed non-english are Spanish, Mandarin and Arabic. I'd guess that italian and french are pretty easy to find, yeah? Insurance Aaaargh

Hi all, I’ve reviewed the archive and done some digging and so far have come up empty. I would like to hear from folks who found a balance between reality and actuarial tables to secure insurance for your operation that didn’t break your bank. Our activities include fixing up and providing bikes to groups through partnerships like schools and civic orgs, providing instruction on fixing bikes, using volunteers to strip and sort, and selling a few bikes that are a bit more valuable. It’s the last item that seems to cause the heartburn, although not our focus or primary goal, just helps keep the rent paid.
