First, Your best bet for used parts is to be in town for FRANKEN-BIKE which happens once a month and is more like a swap meet. Unfortunately, there isn't a co-op in Houston at all. At least not in the same vein of Gearin Up, Velocity or Phoenix. There is a "community focused" shop called 3RD WARD BIKE SHOP which sells used parts and bikes. But the prices arent all that great...but they arent set in stone either - so you might get lucky. When a friemd of mine was planning a tour he had some luck calling a few shops and asking if thwy had a used parts bin he could dig thru. None of them advertised it but a few let him. Try Bayou City Cycles, Sun and Ski Sports and Bike Barn. Best of luck... While bike repair and teaching skills aren't part of the job, they're always an asset, as is experience with community bike shops. And if anyone from afar were to apply and get hired we'd happily assist with helping you find housing and get ya settled. We are travelling at the end of the month to Houston and we are looking on buying bike parts that are difficult to find on Mexico to take bak home and we will like it a lot to buy them form a local co-op. So, let us know if you know some awesome proyect at H-Town to pass by and buy some bicycle parts Saludos R.

As an org, we have agreed that they should be in Spanish and English, as well as have photos if possible. WHO WE ARE: The Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition (SBBIKE) is a countywide organization that promotes bicycling for safe transportation and recreation. Bici Centro, a project of SBBIKE, is a community DIY bicycle repair shop and education center, with the goal of facilitating skill share and increased reliability and safety for all Santa Barbara bicycle riders. There are three Bici Centro facilities—one in Downtown Santa Barbara, one at Santa Barbara City College, and one in Santa Maria. POSITION DESCRIPTION: Shop operations in the Santa Barbara shop is the primary emphasis of this role. Does anyone have links to multilingual charts? I don't want to add to the labour of any folx who natively speak languages other than English but I feel so confident this work has already been done. (I'll check the wiki) In my area (northeast US) I'd guess the three most commonly needed non-english are Spanish, Mandarin and Arabic. I'd guess that italian and french are pretty easy to find, yeah?
