Question: how is your community bike organization structured?

There is more than one way to do everything so how is your community bike organization structured? Please respond! For example: Traditional 501(c)(3) non-profit with a board and executive director? 501(c)(3) non-profit where the by-laws re-allocate the powers of the "board" to a different group or people? 501(c)(3) on the books, but that is as far as it goes? For-profit? Worker owned? Consensus based? Flying under the radar? Other? Any bike stands in storage out there?

Looking for a better than consumer grade, single or dual, floor, counter or wall mount repair stand. Prefer PRS series Park, but ugly and older please, as our budget can't yet manage new and shiny. Will consider anything under $300, prefer that number include shipping to a commercial address in zip code 33701. Experience buying your own property for a community bike project

The Fort Collins Bike Co-op is considering starting a capital fundraising campaign to raise money toward the purchase of our own permanent location. Like many community shops we have bounced around every couple years trying to find inexpensive or free rent. Our present location is currently slated for development into student housing, so our days are numbered there. Moving and then reorganizing consumes alot of our volunteer bandwidth and makes it more difficult for our customers to find us. If your organization has run a fundraising campaign please share any advice and I'll put your name on a list to contact with more specific questions as we proceed. Hey All, Over the years I have purchased dozens of plastic spray bottles for Community Cycles, we use the for degreaser. I've found a variety of different models with small differences but the one thing they have in common is they suck. They tend to last 4-6 weeks and then become unfix-able garbage. Critical Mass book essays?

Hi all, It's late, but we're doing a book to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Critical Mass starting in San Francisco. We will also be hosting a big week-long celebration with daily rides, evening art shows, concerts, films, etc., from Monday Sept. 24-Sunday Sept. 30, with the big anniversary ride falling on Friday, Sept. 28... everyone is invited of course! So the book's original deadline was Jan. 15, and I regret that I never directly sent the solicitation to this list, but we've extended the deadline to Feb. 7 (and we could go a bit longer if someone here needs more time and is up for contributing)...
