Tenemos justo lo que necesitas: ¡presenta un "PEDAL"! (perdón, aún no se ma ha ocurrido una buena traducción!) Para B!B! este año, Josh Bisker y yo volveremos a organizar un taller de mini presentaciones sobre colaboraciones, participación pública, diseño y acceso! Nos gustaría reunir de cinco a siete organizadorxs para presentar charlas de cinco a siete minutos sobre un proyecto interesante en el que han estado involucradxs este año. Si has trabajado en un proyecto para facilitar el acceso a las bicis, construir infraestructura creativa, crear colaboraciones inesperadas o expandir su comunidad de miembros, esta es una oportunidad para presentar tu proyecto y aprender sobre otras iniciativas! Youth Bike Programs and Insurance Policies

Hello All: We here at the Bike Library are very interested in getting a teen program started. We have identified five young adults that have been knocking on the door, and have agreed to help get a youth program off the ground. What insurance do you have? (We are with WestBend and they don't allow anyone under the age of 18 to volunteer). Do you have language that supports the youth program that you use for your insurance? Do you require background checks when working with minors? Any information you have on starting a teen bike program would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much, y'all. Bridging Languages, Building Solidarity: A Workshop for aspiring and experienced interpreters using the Language Justice Framework

Hello everyone! *Here is a special invitation* The compas of Antena LÁ are offering an interpreting workshop in August, in Tijuana, about the language justice framework + more, and in preparation to build capacity for interpretation at Bike! Bike! 2019 Tijuana. What are key points of bike maintenance that people don't know? How to pump tires, adjust seat height, and identify if anything is noisy or loose. I like the ABC Quick check. Is it at all possible to bring a bicycle and a pump, and maybe a wrench to adjust seat height unless it is QR? Would recommend that. In 90 mins you can have everyone, or many, demonstrate proper tire inflation and they've actually done it, so now they can do it on their own in the future with a minute or two of hands-on experience.

One time youth curriculum

Hello everybody, We are going to be giving a 1 1/2 hour class on bike basics to 17 middle school kids and then again to 17 high school students. This is being done offsite in a classroom setting with no bikes or tools. Im hoping that some of you might have some advice on what to cover in this short period of time and any tips and tricks you may know. I am thinking start with a bike anatomy overview and then move into fixing a flat which would consist of presenter demonstration interspersed with a little Q and A then followed up with a student hands on with a punctured innertube to patch. Perhaps make a game out of it? Finishing the class with an overview of the pre-ride saftey check. I can hand out laminated checklist cards for them to keep.
